I know that's not a popular opinion, but it's how I feel. For me, being transgender isn't about feeling like I was born in the wrong body. It's about feeling like I was born with the potential to be something more than what I was assigned at birth. It's about consciously making the decision to change my gender. thinking about my transition this way has helped me to better understand the feelings I've had about gender throughout my life. I've always felt like I was outside of the gender binary, and like I didn't quite fit into the role that society expects women to fill.
